Rental Description

From unrivalled panoramic views of the dense forest through the expansive windows to a chameleon-like private pool, the villa has everything you could ever want for a truly special getaway.
Tastefully decorated in shades of coffee and cream, exposed brick and varying shades of wood, the villa has a modern edge yet retains its natural charm. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up tasty meals, including a smart black granite tabletop and double sinks. Enjoy eating together around the dining table on the terrace or at the delightfully quirky brick breakfast bar.
Dressed in ambient lighting by night, the pool is a striking jade green, but in the day it’s a jewel-bright turquoise. Swim to your heart’s content and look out over the infinity pool through the canopy of trees for a sense of calm and relaxation. It’s perfect for cooling off after a day exploring the jungle setting. At night, experience a dip in the pool, while listening to the sounds of the jungle and watching the villa reflected in the water.
Lush grass borders the infinity pool, stretching out into a beautifully landscaped lawn and garden, with plenty of exotic plants. Curved wooden sunbeds stretch out by the pool, perfect for enjoying the tropical climate. Step straight from the garden through the enormous glass doors into the charming bedrooms. Each is decorated in a different neutral theme, weaving together various wood types, feature walls, all accented with fresh flowers in every room.
The villa is furnished with plenty of unfinished wood in a variety of tones, just like a traditional Balinese house. Edgy details modernise the space, such as painted dressers, patterned rugs and a bookshelf stocked with holiday reading material. Curl up in one of the chairs for some reading time, and sink into the cosy beds with crisp linen and curtains at the end of the day. Some of the bedrooms even have a desk, perfect for holiday journaling or writing postcards.
Ensuite bathrooms have designer bathtubs and original stone sinks for a soak in stylish surroundings. Additionally, there’s a unique open-air shower to really help you get back to nature. Your jungle hideout is tucked away in the village of Sayan, next to the famous Ayung River and close to Ubud. There’s a dazzling array of things to see and do in the surrounding area, such as visiting the Ubud Art Market, bursting with beautiful ceramics, Balinese furniture and fabrics. Browse through the colourful, ornate handicrafts and practise your bargaining skills with the locals.
Ubud is home to many of the island’s most spectacular waterfalls. Some cascades are well known, such as Tegenungan Waterfall, with its beautiful scenery, while others are rockier and require swimming. Little-known Kanto Lampo has a fantastic wall of water, perfect for an icy shower to cool down.
For an adrenaline rush, go white water rafting on the Ayung river – zoom through the rapids in an inflatable dinghy, discovering hidden waterfalls and lush rice terraces along the way. There are sections suitable for all levels, and it’s possible to try rafting all year round.
One of the most popular activities in Ubud is visiting the monkey forest, home to approximately 700 wild monkeys in their natural habitat. Regarded by locals as a spiritual and educational experience, the Monkey Forest is beloved by tourists – just be careful with your belongings, as monkeys love to grab any loose items that they find tempting! Inside, there are also peaceful temples and a vast canopy of banyan trees.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up to an active volcano for sunrise. Mount Batur takes about two hours to ascend and is perfectly safe to climb. It’s a beautiful and rewarding way to start your morning as the views here are breathtaking. On the way back, there are great tracks for downhill biking.
There are also plenty of lovely walks around the Ubud area, such as around Tegalalang, where you can see the layers of evergreen rice paddies in all their glory. The Campunan Ridge walk is another gentle path with a few hills that takes around 45 minutes to complete. It’s particularly lovely in the soft morning light after sunrise.
Bali is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ and spirituality pours from every corner. For over a thousand years, Balinese Hindus have made pilgrimages to Tirta Empul holy water temple, where people cleanse themselves in the individual bathing stations outdoors. Nowadays, locals and tourists bathe side by side – it’s a lovely sight to see.
In Ubud, there are countless classes you can take to enrich yourself, including Balinese cookery classes starting with a trip to the local market to buy supplies. Afterwards, you can enjoy the food you make together. Why not partake in yoga and meditation retreats, Balinese dance or music classes?
While there’s plenty to entertain you in Ubud, it’s easy to take day trips to other areas of Bali. Seminyak, Bali’s premiere upscale beach resort is a short ride away. A playground for jet-setters, fashionistas and yogis, it’s full of fashionable boutiques where you can shop til you drop and delightfully fancy spas. Indulge in a quintessentially Balinese massage and spend the day getting pampered. Seminyak has an excellent nightlife, atmospheric cocktail huts and superb sundowners at beach clubs.
