Stepping inside, you’re greeted with a light and welcoming living, kitchen and dining area. You’ll find everything you need for relaxation or dining. When you’re not enjoying breakfast with the tranquil nature views or sunbathing on your terrace, cool off in the pool’s crystal-clear waters or inside in the villa’s air conditioning.
There are lots of places to sit outside, including cushioned sun loungers and an alfresco dining table. For those warm-weather days (there are plenty), there’s a stone barbeque, so you can cook up that locally-bought fresh seafood. Where to get it? Villa Othello is only a few minutes’ drive from the popular beach resort of Coral Bay, where you’ll find an excellent selection of restaurants, serving both international and local cuisine, together with cafes, bars, shops and supermarkets.
The area is also renowned for its beautiful swimming spots, including Coral Bay beach (a long stretch of soft sand with a café and water sports), as well as its fascinating architecture including Paphos Castle and the Tombs of the Kings. When you get back from your adventure-packed day, the three stylish bedrooms await. There’s an en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor, with direct access to the pool terrace. On the upper level, there are two en-suite twin bedrooms, both with balconies showcasing the serene setting of pine and olive trees spilling down to the coast.
Villa Othello is in Coral Bay, a popular holiday spot on Cyprus’s southwest coast. It’s about 6km north of the city of Paphos. Its rocky headlands and sea caves characterise the serene area, and there’s a long stretch of sheltered sandy beach, enclosed by a pair of limestone headlands. The beach boasts opportunities to take part in water sports like sea kayaking, snorkelling and jet skiing. There are also plenty of restaurants, serving everything from meat mezes and fresh seafood to international cuisine, as well as small cafes and bars for afternoon snacks, coffees or evening cocktails.
In Paphos centre, you can head to the boat-lined harbour with waterfront restaurants and Paphos Castle, an ancient Byzantine fort and a favourite spot for evening entertainment like live music. From there, you can follow the coastal road round for a scenic walk along the shore. Paphos centre also has plenty more supermarkets, bakeries and shops to pick up your holiday essentials.Culture lover? The UNESCO World Heritage Site Tombs of the Kings is a must see. You’ll find fantastically-preserved underground tombs and chambers used during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. You can easily get around using the local bus service. Ibrahim Kahn in Paphos Old Town is also a must visit. It’s a charming cobbled square with hand-crafted mosaic, jewellery and art boutiques. There’s a small taverna there too, serving traditional food like souvlaki and mezes.
For scuba divers (beginner or advanced), top dive sites include Coral Bay harbour, St. Georges Island and St. Georges harbour. At the latter, there’s also a small sandy beach you can relax on, caves for you to traverse and a restaurant overlooking the water. From there, you could also visit the Sea Caves in Peyia. Enjoy a walk along the cliffs, swim and snorkel or sunbathe on the rocks.
