Rental Description

Nestled on a lush green headland on Antigua’s sparkling southwest coast, Villa Marcelle is a stunning four-bedroom villa with a private pool and panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. Part of the Tamarind Hills boutique collection of oceanfront villas and suites, Villa Marcelle is designed with laidback Caribbean living in mind. With sun-soaked outdoor spaces and dreamlike vistas, you will be ready to return to this enchanting island paradise time and time again!
The large wraparound terrace provides guests with a fantastic outdoor living space, complete with an infinity-edged swimming pool and a secluded sunbathing area. You will be drawn out to the terrace every morning by the radiant blue skies overhead and the sound of the gently lapping waves below. After a refreshing dip in the pool, guests have a covered outdoor lounge area where they can relax with a good book for the rest of the afternoon. The terrace also features a casual outdoor dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a barbecue grill, the perfect place to prepare memorable meals with a cocktail in hand.
Inside, the villa continues to exude effortless charm with relaxed, contemporary design touches, echoing the natural colours and textures of the surrounding island. Wide patio doors lead from the terrace into a stylish lounge area, where there is a sumptuous corner sofa and a large flatscreen TV, making this the ideal spot for everyone to unwind after a day spent exploring Antigua’s beaches. The open-plan lounge flows harmoniously into a spacious dining area with more beautiful views. Adjacent to the dining area, the villa’s well-appointed kitchen features a large island and modern appliances, including a coffee machine for your morning coffee on the terrace. A charming double bedroom is also located on the ground floor, complete with an en-suite bathroom featuring a walk-in rain shower.
Three more fabulous double bedrooms with king-size beds and smart TVs are available on the first floor of Villa Marcelle. The master suite features a spacious oceanfront balcony with spectacular views, where guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast or take in a romantic sunset. This suite features an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and a luxurious bathtub, while every other bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Air-conditioning is featured throughout the villa, with ceiling fans fitted in each of the bedrooms as well as the main living space.
This island oasis is ideally situated between two of Antigua’s dazzling beaches: Darkwood Beach and Ffryes Beach. On Ffryes Beach, the resort’s private sun loungers are laid out on the sand. Guests have exclusive access to Tamarind Hills Beach Club a few steps away, boasting its own bar, restaurant and salt-water swimming pool. For a choice of excellent restaurants, the marina at Jolly Harbour is only a five-minute drive away. Thanks to the superb location of Tamarind Hills on Antigua’s southwest coastline, Villa Marcelle offers guests spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, from the white sands of Darkwood Beach stretching out over the turquoise ocean to the islands of Montserrat and St. Kitts on the horizon. The heavenly Antiguan coastline is home to crystalline waters and pristine sandy beaches, with a picturesque backdrop of tropical green hills.
The nation of Antigua and Barbuda encompasses its namesake sister islands and several smaller islets, all located in the heart of the Caribbean. While Antigua is the largest of the nation’s islands, it remains a remarkably small corner of paradise at just 281 km², making it the perfect place for a relaxed Caribbean getaway. With 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to your next dip in the ocean!
Only a twenty-minute drive away from the villa, the Antiguan capital of St. John’s is easily accessible. This small and colourful Caribbean port city is home to an impressive neo-Baroque cathedral and lively public markets by the harbour every weekend. There is plenty more shopping to be done at Heritage Quay and Redcliffe Quay. For a chance to learn more about the nation’s heritage and fascinating history, you can also visit the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda in St. John’s, located in the old colonial Court House which dates back to 1747.
Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring an eighteenth-century British naval dockyard. As well as being a site of great historical and cultural significance on the island, this is also a popular venue for maritime events. Antigua Sailing Week was founded in 1967 and attracts hundreds of yachts every year. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, you can charter a sailboat for the day or arrange an excursion out on the water.
Nelson’s Dockyard also offers adventure-seekers plenty of activities on dry land, including a number of fantastic trekking trails. Consider hiking to Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout with panoramic views, which happens to be one of the island’s most popular destinations. Shirley Heights is well known for its famous Sunday afternoon party, where visitors are welcome to take part in the festivities. Listen to live Caribbean steel drum bands, try some of the local food and rum punch and take in the out-of-this-world panoramic views as the sun begins to set on Antigua.
Idyllic beaches are only the beginning of all the natural beauty and cultural vibrancy this friendly island has to offer. With hiking trails, watersports, culinary delights, museums, exotic birds and rainforests, visitors will be enchanted time and time again by Antigua’s breathtaking landscape and rich cultural heritage. At Excellence Luxury Villas, we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
